From what ive been reading the main difference is that the screen is LCD instead of OLED. The new model seems to be liter and a little thinner then before.
This game will come out for Wii U, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, Xbox One, and iOS/Android platforms. Its getting a mobile release first this year while the others are scheduled for 2014.
